Orangeville, ON December 27, 2018: After the success of the first 100 Kids Who Care Dufferin event, the team is hoping to keep the same momentum with their second meeting. The group will meet January 27th at the Mel Lloyd Centre in Shelburne 5:00pm to 6:00pm. All kids between the ages of 5 to 18 are welcome to attend. Each member in attendance brings $10, listens to presentations from 3 local charities within 1 hour, and then votes on the charity to receive a cheque for $1000.

At the first event that took place in October, Parkinson Society, Streams Community Hub and St. Vincent de Paul Society were nominated and presented to 75 members that were in attendance.  The group presented their $750, and in a surprise plot twist an anonymous donor topped up the funds to support reaching their $1000 goal. Parkinson Society was presented with the $1000 cheque. In another surprise announcement, another anonymous donor was inspired by the actions of the group and matched the $1000 allowing 100 Kids Who Care Dufferin to present $500 to Streams Community Hub and another $500 to St. Vincent de Paul Society.

The focus of the event is to teach children to give and inspire the next generation of philanthropists providing a forum to help them become aware and contribute to local charities. To register visit Members are asked to nominate a local charity and three charities will be selected to present at the meeting. The nomination deadline is January 13th. Nomination forms and charity suggestions can also be found on the website as well.
